YEAR 2020 IS HERE, WHERE DID THE TIME GO?

For those of us with a little gray hair, here’s a frightening thought: The year 2050 is the exact same distance away from now as the year 1990 was in the past.  When thinking about the 1990's, I can't help but think about popular things like Beanie Babies, a Blockbuster membership card, a pager or maybe even a cool pair of Doc Martens (ok, some may still wear those).  For many, 30 years ago seems like a very long time, for others, like me, it may seem like yesterday.  It's easy to look back on how far we've come in 30 years but it's always difficult to predict where we'll be 30 years into the future. Volkswagen predicts they’ll be 100% carbon neutral by the year 2050. That’s a bold and profound statement coming from any car maker. Of course, we all say, “sure, but how?” Like anything, one must crawl before you can walk, so VW has announced its reduction in carbon footprint in small segments over the course of the next 30 years. The job of an air filter is to filter the air that comes through the HVAC system to prevent pollutants, such as dust, pollen or debris from entering. What is an HVAC system you might ask? The main parts of the HVAC system are heating, ventilation, and an air conditioning unit.  Its purpose in a vehicle is to clean, cool, heat, regulate, ventilate and dehumidify the air entering the cabin. Outside air has to pass through the cabin air filter (also known as a pollen filter) before making its way into the rest of the HVAC system. If you do not

THE SOIREE, A Coming Together for Kids

The Hewlett Dealerships are proud to present the 2020 Soiree- A Coming Together for Kids . This year’s event once again benefits three local non-profits, The Georgetown Project, CASA of Williamson County and the Williamson County Children’s Advocacy Center. Held on February 29, 2020 the Mardi Gras Masquerade fundraising event will feature dining and dancing and will be an opportunity to put on your shiniest shoes, blingiest jewelry, and your most glamorous attire. Each of the organizations benefitting from the event provides much-needed services to children in Williamson County.   The Georgetown Project’s vision is that no child is hungry, hurt, alone, or rejected and that all children and youth believe they are loved, respected and treated with dignity. Since 1997,  the Georgetown Project has served almost 25,000 children and youth of all ages and from all walks of life. They believe that positive intergenerational relationships can make all the difference for young people.
