What's New for 2018?

What’s New for 2018?

Happy New Year from all of us at Hewlett Volkswagen! During this past year, we've seen Volkswagen begin to turn the corner on many issues, most notably, the TDI settlement.  Progress has now begun on the re-introduction of TDI pre-owned  used cars to the market.
2018, Where do I start?  How about with product confidence. Volkswagen is so confident in their reliability, quality and craftsmanship that they've DOUBLED their warranty on all new 2018 models.  Yes, you now get a 6 years/72,000 miles Bumper-to-Bumper Limited Warranty with every new 2018 (and beyond) Volkswagen. It’s called “The People First Warranty” and media promotions have already begun.  NO other car maker has this much confidence in their product to offer such a long warranty.  Volkswagen is putting “The People First” and their money where their mouth is to prove it.

Next, we now have a full line-up of the all new VW Atlas SUV as well as the totally re-designed Tiguan SUV.  In December, at Hewlett Volkswagen, 67 happy customers drove off in one of these new SUV’s showing great promise to what the future holds.

This month at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, VW launched the all-new 2019 Jetta.  The all new Jetta is in production and dealer availability is scheduled for the 2nd quarter of this year.  Every single bolt on this Jetta is new!  It will be competitively priced, host a full array of driver assistance and infotainment features and for the first time, include an R-Line version.

In the third quarter we’ll see a “Limited Edition” Passat GT.  This sporty Passat will have a standard V6 engine, lowered suspension, acoustic tuned exhaust, a rear spoiler, sport wheels, a blacked out roof and side mirrors, along with a host of options that will make this truly a “one of a kind”.

Last but not least, on the product side (yes, I’m still talking about this year only) VW will introduce its all new “Halo” car named the Arteon.  Ladies and gentleman – children of all ages, I’ve seen this car.  I’ve been in the car business my entire adult life and I must admit, this is the BEST looking car I’ve ever seen!  Be on the lookout as VW introduces the Arteon at the Chicago Auto Show in the 4th quarter of this year.

As mentioned above, VW plans a full re-introduction of TDI pre-owned cars to the market via the dealer network.  The incentives, marketing, additional warranty offered (2 year UNLIMITED miles) and very flexible financing from Volkswagen Credit will make these cars sell fast.  Volkswagen Credit has been so instrumental in helping customers obtain these that they’ve agreed to 72 month financing, even on a 2012 model if that’s what the customer wants.  With approved credit, a well-qualified customer can receive a no money down loan for up to 72 months on a TDI that may only cost $10,000-$12,000 to begin with.  And (as mentioned above) get a two year unlimited mile warranty to go with it!

In closing, 2017 was phenomenal.  We serviced, sold and otherwise helped thousands of customers solve their automotive needs.  We’re so lucky because in 2018 we get to do it again, but this time with an array of new products that are beaming with new technology and features and guess what, we can’t wait!

Come see us and as always, thank you so much for loyalty and your business.

Latest TDI News

By John Chauvin   Welcome to summer!   It’s our sincere hope that you’re enjoying this warmer weather for outdoor events, backyard fun and maybe even some well-deserved vacation time with your family.   I know in previous newsletters I’ve written about the new and exciting products Volkswagen has or will launch this year.   The all new Jetta is a huge hit as VW seemed to find the perfect match for just about everything one could ask for in terms of styling, technology, comfort, roominess and of course making The People First Warranty TWICE as long.   The all new Volkswagen Atlas and Tiguan SUV’s continue to set all time sales records and our customers (and us as well) are simply amazed by these two vehicles. I wanted to change the tune a bit and talk Pre-Owned cars, specifically - the VW TDI diesel.   As we approach the final months of Volkswagen’s TDI buybacks, the focus has now shifted to the re-sale of those TDI vehicles back into the...

Brett Weldon rejoins Team Hewlett

By Tom Fornshell, Service and Parts Manager There is a lot of talk about how important family is. It is fundamental to all of us and it is very important to me. It can either be our foundation or our undoing, a huge support structure or missing altogether… maybe all the above. Any way you have it, it influences the path we take in life. Hewlett Volkswagen is owned and run by an amazing family who teach me about generosity, respect, and caring every day. They make our store feel like home. Brett Weldon was a Volkswagen service consultant for sixteen years; and ten years with the Hewlett Family.   Good and high performing people in any industry are often lured away to different organizations hoping to capitalize on some of that performance. Such was the case with Brett. Heck, I don’t blame them, Brett is a Rockstar of customer service. Anyone that has had the fortune of dealing with him knows that. So, after a couple years of not so pleasant public perception of the ...
