Hewlett Chili Cook-off

Need a good chili recipe for this cold weather? Ask any of us while you wait! We just wrapped up our annual Hewlett Chili Cook-Off, where over thirty employees sought to make the best chili on the Hewlett campus and take home the coveted Hewlett Chili Cup. Three judges were chosen from each dealership and service department. The judges tasted each chili scoring the recipe on flavor, authenticity, and aroma. After tallying up the votes first, second, and third-place prizes were handed out at each location.

The competition was tough at Hewlett Volkswagen with multiple entries, and every single one of them tasting amazing. Competition was neck and neck between the nine competing. First place was awarded to a dynamic duo: Zack Daniel and Tyesha Gomez. Second place went to a new hire in service, Kevin Graef and Samantha Gomez was surprised and excited to take third place.

After all the awards were given, the first-place chili from each location was transported to the Don Hewlett Chevrolet sales break room with care. A final panel of three judges tasted each chili deliberating for what felt like hours before declaring Mark Peterson from Chevrolet service the overall winner!

Austin FC

Catch soccer fever! Austin’s first major professional sports team AUSTIN FC has arrived, and Hewlett Volkswagen is proud to be one of the broadcast sponsors through KXAN. Austin FC competes in Major League Soccer (MLS) as a member of the Western Conference. The Club was founded in 2018 and began playing this year. Their first home game against the San Jose Earthquakes will be played on June 19th at Q2 Stadium in North Austin. Their roster includes players from 12 different countries. Volkswagen of America has partnered with Men’s and Women’s National Team stars for years. The brand supports US soccer and its mission of making soccer the preeminent sport in the U.S. and providing access for all. Volkswagen commits thousands of dollars annually to both sponsorships and scholarships. The Team at Hewlett Volkswagen looks forward to cheering on Austin FC this season. Go Team!

Why does it smell like old gym socks in my car when I turn on my air conditioner?
