It’s Holiday Road Tripping Time!

Are you planning a road trip for the Holidays?

If you answered yes, we would like to invite you to stop by for a FREE, NO CHARGE Winter Pit Stop service.

It's super easy and you can stay in your vehicle!  We will take care of you right on the Service Drive as soon as you arrive.

What does the Winter Pit Stop include?

·         Checking and adjusting your vehicle’s tire pressures,

·         Inspecting tire tread wear and conditions,

·         Performing a battery health test, and

·         Checking and topping off the
oil, washer fluid, and coolant.

Why is it important to perform a checkup before Winter?

Tires: With the change of ambient temperatures, you can expect a change in your tire pressures.  For every 10-degree drop in temperature, the air in your tires decreases by one PSI (pound per square inch). Driving on underinflated or worn tires can be dangerous.  If the tire pressures are low this can cause premature wear that can lead to tread separation and blowouts. Underinflated and worn tires may also affect stopping distance, handling, comfort, and fuel economy. During extreme weather conditions underinflated and worn tires can also cause hydroplaning. Let us help you inspect your tires. Your safety is our Top Priority.

Battery:  Extreme temperatures – both hot and cold - can be brutal when it comes to battery health. However, cold weather is especially hard on batteries. At colder temperatures, the battery’s ability to provide sufficient power to start and run a vehicle is diminished. During cold temperatures, starting an engine can take up to twice as much current as needed under normal conditions.  Periodically checking the health of your battery and charging system is the smart way of preventing an unwanted situation. During our Winter Pit Stop service, we will test the battery health and provide you with a printed report.

Fluids:  As we brace for winter weather in the coming months you should keep an eye on coolant and oil levels. Just as we tend to slow down and weaken if we don’t get enough fluids, our vehicles react the same. So let's keep them full and healthy.  The last situation anyone wants is to be stuck out in the cold.

  • Changing the engine oil is the single most important vehicle maintenance service you can do for your car. Every make and model may have similar or different service intervals when it comes to fluid and filter changes. This is due to the types of oil used, type of service in which the vehicle is used, and engine type. If your engine oil becomes low, it can cause many concerns with your vehicle including worse case, engine failure.  Internal engine lubrication is most important to keep your vehicle running healthy.
  • Low washer fluid is not only an inconvenience but can cause poor visibility when you need it most.
  • Engine coolant is a heat-transfer fluid designed to remove excess heat from an internal combustion engine. It also serves to prevent freezing, acts as a water pump lubricant, and most importantly helps protect from corrosion. Low coolant can cause the vehicle to overheat, which can rapidly cause breakdowns. When checking your coolant level, please note that most bottles will have minimum and maximum indicators on the side of the bottle. Your coolant level should lie in between and be below the max line. The best time to inspect your coolant is when the engine is cold prior to being driven.

Checking vehicle fluids in between your service visits is the safest and smartest way to care for your vehicle. Keep in mind, the interval for changing the fluids on your vehicle is not an interval for checking and filling your fluids.
