You may have noticed around town (state and nationally as
well), new and used car inventory is getting very slim. Inventory levels in the automotive industry are
squeezed very tight right now all because of a global micro-chip shortage.
Yes, it’s hard to believe that we can build thousands of
vehicles and one little, tiny micro-chip keeps them from being completed and
shipped to the dealer - but that’s what’s happening.
Volkswagen did anticipate this micro-chip shortage and
switched their already produced chips over to the more popular selling vehicles
for production. Translation: We here at Hewlett Volkswagen are still
getting shipments of the “good stuff”.
In fact, our shipments vs. sales last month were almost 1 to 1 so
hopefully we’ll remain in good shape.
The Volkswagen ID.4 EV is arriving daily and selling as fast
as they come in.
We were given an additional
allocation of “unsold” ID.4 EV’s so if you weren’t able to order one, now’s
your chance.
Volkswagen has also introduced the all-new VW Taos. It’s slightly smaller than the current
Tiguan. The Taos will be here in June as
a 2022 model. Our first allocation
includes 35 Taos SUVs so we’re excited to hit the market running with this new
product.
Incentives remain strong, 0% APR is still available, and
inventory continues to arrive. If you’re considering a new Volkswagen, your
timing couldn’t be better, come visit us!
Safe travels,
John Chauvin, GM Hewlett Volkswagen
