Don’t wait until it’s
too late. Charge up that A/C today!
As our Texas summertime
heat takes hold and the outside temperature hits the century mark, it is
important that your vehicle’s air conditioning system blows cold and is at full
operation.
Air conditioning systems
are designed to keep passengers cool and comfortable. It is not uncommon for a
vehicle’s A/C system to go untouched and unmaintained until it stops working
altogether. Sometimes waiting until the system stops working can cost much
more, not only to your wallet but also in time and resources waiting for your
vehicle to be repaired. And don’t forget that getting stuck in this heat with
no A/C is almost unbearable!
Over time, the A/C
fittings become loose and O-rings, hoses and seals wear out causing problems.
Symptoms of an AC system that may need attention are:
- The A/C blows warm air,
- The cooling is intermittent,
- There is little to no airflow,
- When turned on, the compressor makes an abnormal
noise such as clicking or rattling, and/or
- The A/C doesn't turn on at all.
A few possible causes to
a poorly performing A/C system could be low refrigerant due to leaks, a clogged
or inoperative compressor, a clogged or damaged condenser or blower,
non-working fan(s), leaking pipes, contaminated A/C systems, A/C module or switch
malfunctions and much more.
At Hewlett Volkswagen, we know A/C systems.
During an A/C Service and performance check, one of our VW Certified
Technicians will evacuate the refrigerant and recharge the system to proper
levels. They will check the belts and hoses, make sure the A/C system
components are working properly, check for leaks, and add dye when
necessary. The technician will check blower operation and vent
temperatures and perform a system performance test.
It is recommended that
the air conditioning system is checked annually so any malfunctions can be
identified early and remedied. Our Volkswagen Certified Technicians can
inspect, evaluate, and recharge your A/C system to keep your air conditioning
blowing cold!
If you haven't had your
system serviced in a while, now's the time! Call or schedule an online appointment today.
Enjoy your summer and be
safe!
