We Love the Newest, Hottest, Coolest Volkswagen Features and You Will Too!

What comes to mind when the general public gets asked “what do you think or know about the VW brand and how would you describe it?”  The answers seem to be all over the board as the VW brand itself has a lot to offer to a wide range of demographics. Younger folks describe what they know and like far different than the family with kids. The more seasoned VW owners have yet a different opinion as they typically take a trip down memory lane describing yesteryear’s models.

One thing remains constant throughout the generations, FUN! Volkswagens are fun to drive, fun to look at, fun to show off, even fun to wash, go figure!

As many of you know, VW also owns the Audi brand.  About 10-15 years ago, Audi made a big splash in the market and their cars became “cool” almost overnight.  Audi has always built great cars but that cool(ness) factor and explosion in the market was pinpointed to one small and simple option:  The LED “cat eye” headlights.  Obviously by now other brands have copied and emulated their own version of that headlight but at the time, Audi was it and everyone wanted it.

Volkswagen learned a lot from those days and being that they already owned the technology, a lot of the Audi options were installed into the VW brand cars and SUVs.

During the years I spent on VW’s U.S. Product team, we constantly spoke about and worked on designing “cool” options into our model lineup.  Well folks, the time has come. There are a lot of REALLY  “cool” options that we know you’ll love!

Interior Ambient Lighting:  Not only is this a cool feature, but you have about 10 color choices to choose from depending on your mood that day.  The ambient lighting is the subtle LED lighting on the doors, down below where your feet are, across the dash, etc.

Wireless Apple/Android Car Play:  No longer are you tethered with a cord while your connectivity choices are coming from your phone.

Wireless Phone Charging Pad

Panoramic Sunroof:  Not quite a convertible but about as close as you can get.

21” Wheels:  Several SUV models have an AWESOME (and very good looking) wheel design.

Digital Dash:  This one is fun; all your gauges are digital and you can slide the navigation map from your radio spot to the dash right above your steering wheel.

Safety Items Galore:  All the drivers assist technology is available from, 360-degree view camera, lane change (or lane drifting) alerts, crash avoidance, adaptive cruise control, and more!

And of course, LED “cat eye” headlights:  Now just about all VW cars and SUV’s have LED headlights and taillights, but the cool(ness) factor is over the top.

Check out this short video from our friend “Chip” who you’ve seen on TV.  Chip shows off a few of these features you’ll see when you come see us and test drive your next “Cool Feature” Volkswagen.

Happy Travels,

Latest TDI News

By John Chauvin   Welcome to summer!   It’s our sincere hope that you’re enjoying this warmer weather for outdoor events, backyard fun and maybe even some well-deserved vacation time with your family.   I know in previous newsletters I’ve written about the new and exciting products Volkswagen has or will launch this year.   The all new Jetta is a huge hit as VW seemed to find the perfect match for just about everything one could ask for in terms of styling, technology, comfort, roominess and of course making The People First Warranty TWICE as long.   The all new Volkswagen Atlas and Tiguan SUV’s continue to set all time sales records and our customers (and us as well) are simply amazed by these two vehicles. I wanted to change the tune a bit and talk Pre-Owned cars, specifically - the VW TDI diesel.   As we approach the final months of Volkswagen’s TDI buybacks, the focus has now shifted to the re-sale of those TDI vehicles back into the...

Brett Weldon rejoins Team Hewlett

By Tom Fornshell, Service and Parts Manager There is a lot of talk about how important family is. It is fundamental to all of us and it is very important to me. It can either be our foundation or our undoing, a huge support structure or missing altogether… maybe all the above. Any way you have it, it influences the path we take in life. Hewlett Volkswagen is owned and run by an amazing family who teach me about generosity, respect, and caring every day. They make our store feel like home. Brett Weldon was a Volkswagen service consultant for sixteen years; and ten years with the Hewlett Family.   Good and high performing people in any industry are often lured away to different organizations hoping to capitalize on some of that performance. Such was the case with Brett. Heck, I don’t blame them, Brett is a Rockstar of customer service. Anyone that has had the fortune of dealing with him knows that. So, after a couple years of not so pleasant public perception of the ...
