Catch soccer fever!   Austin’s first major professional sports team AUSTIN FC has arrived, and Hewlett Volkswagen is proud to be one of the broadcast sponsors through KXAN.   Austin FC competes in Major League Soccer (MLS) as a member of the Western Conference.   The Club was founded in 2018 and began playing this year.   Their first home game against the San Jose Earthquakes will be played on June 19th at Q2 Stadium in North Austin. Their roster includes players from 12 different countries. Volkswagen of America has partnered with Men’s and Women’s National Team stars for years.   The brand supports US soccer and its mission of making soccer the preeminent sport in the U.S. and providing access for all.   Volkswagen commits thousands of dollars annually to both sponsorships and scholarships.   The Team at Hewlett Volkswagen looks forward to cheering on Austin FC this season.   Excitement is building for the New 2022 Volkswagen Taos.   According to Motor Trend , the Taos has earned Best-In-Class Highway MPG.   It’s the newest small SUV on the market in the US and with an average of 36 mpg on the highway, it’s the most fuel-efficient cruiser you can buy. The Taos has a base MSRP of $22,995 and is equipped with a turbocharged 1.5 liter four-cylinder engine and if desired can be equipped with all-wheel drive. It’s surprisingly roomy with 28 cubic feet of space behind the rear seatbacks and 66 cubic feet with them folded flat.   The interior takes it’s styling from both the Tiguan and Atlas.   The base model Taos includes a lot of standard driver assists features in addition to the popular “digital cockpit”.   Drivers can certainly upgrade to models with leather interior, customizable ambient cabin lighting, a panoramic sunroof and more. You may have noticed around town (state and nationally as well), new and used car inventory is getting very slim.   Inventory levels in the automotive industry are squeezed very tight right now all because of a global micro-chip shortage. Yes, it’s hard to believe that we can build thousands of vehicles and one little, tiny micro-chip keeps them from being completed and shipped to the dealer - but that’s what’s happening.   Volkswagen did anticipate this micro-chip shortage and switched their already produced chips over to the more popular selling vehicles for production.   Translation:   We here at Hewlett Volkswagen are still getting shipments of the “good stuff”.    In fact, our shipments vs. sales last month were almost 1 to 1 so hopefully we’ll remain in good shape.
